The Political Impact of Colonial Administration

Art Vidich's work on the South Pacific island of Palau was the basis for his doctorate study at Harvard University. The Political Impact of Colonial Administration was consigned to the dusty archives of Harvard's Widener Library for nearly thirty years after he received his PhD. Fortunately, in 1980 Arno Press published this classic study for the world to read. It is the definitive study of colonial administration for the island of Palau - the only nation in the world that remains a quasi colony of the United States, relying on America for its mail delivery services.

Art told his son Charles many years after the book's publication that it had been widely read in Palau and was considered one of the seminal works on the political history of that nation.
